Social Worker/Therapist

The New York Center for Children (NYCC) is a private, nonprofit agency which provides free, comprehensive therapy services to children, adolescents and their families who have experienced child abuse, neglect, domestic violence or other trauma. 

NYCC is seeking a highly motivated professional with strong clinical skills to join our team. We are interested in individuals who have a background in working with children and adolescents and trauma informed treatment. This is a full time, Monday-Friday position.

Social workers provide individual and group therapy to children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced trauma. NYCC utilizes TF-CBT as well as play therapy and art therapy techqniues. The average caseload is 20 clients per week. The Therapist will participate in weekly staff meetings, clinical meetings, peer supervision and individual supervision.

• Provide individual clinical treatment to children, adolescents and non-offending parents who have experienced abuse/trauma.
•  Co-facilitate therapeutic groups.
• Keep up-to-date statistics, documentation and reports as required.
• Participate in weekly staff, clinical, peer and individual supervision meetings.
• Conduct intake of new client referrals.
• Provide advocacy for children and families.
• Facilitate relations between ACS, partner agencies and families as needed.
• Conduct trainings and educational workshops.

·        LMSW and NYS licensure required

·        Oral and written fluency in Spanish preferred

·        Clinical experience working with children, adolescents and families.

·        Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team.

·        Knowledge of how trauma impacts child development and family systems.

·        Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

Annual salary range of $60,000-64,000, Exempt. NYCC offers a benefit package that includes health and dental insurance; 403b with match after one year employment; generous paid vacation/sick days. Supervision hours will be provided by a clinical psychologist.
