Job Description

LOCATION

DOROT Westchester, located in White Plains, is a satellite location to our NYC headquarters. Working in a hybrid model, the Manager of Social Work Supported Programs will work in the White Plains office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and remotely the remaining days. Fieldwork is conducted throughout the entire work week as needed.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Regional Director of Westchester, the Manager of Social Work Supported Programs serves as a strategic partner to the Regional Director and NYC peers to address a broad array of social work and program matters. The role includes clinical and operational oversight of psycho-social in-home assessments of older adults and the Friendly Visiting program, supervision of social workers and interns and oversight for short-term case assistance and crisis intervention.   

 


Job Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Contribute to the overall success of the Westchester regional office by being a dynamic, thoughtful, and conscientious leader that demonstrates clinical expertise and creativity in program development and operations.    
  • Work with DOROT’s Manhattan-based Constituent and Community Services (CCS) team on a routine basis to ensure programmatic partnership, continuity of practice, and important synergies among portfolios and staff teams. 
  • Develop and support agency and regional office goals and lead new strategic opportunities that arise.   
  • Encourage, track, and share constituent stories to support the agency’s work to elevate our impact with our constituents for a variety of purposes.   
  • Represent DOROT at professional meetings/conferences and networking events and build productive relationships with community partners and aging service professionals. 

 

 PRIMARY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Manage and oversee social work supported programming and services for the Westchester regional office, with a focus on institutional excellence and strategic vision. 
  • Support the refinement, understanding of and compliance with team operations, social work best practices, and policies in both independent and teamwork. This includes partnership with the Regional Director of Westchester and the CCS Director to: 
  • Refine and manage workflow to meet portfolio priorities in partnership  
  • Codify program protocols and establish programmatic enhancements and efficiencies. 
  • Be a partner to the Westchester Program Coordinator who oversees the Package Delivery and Birthday Reveler Visiting Programs 
  • Inspire, mentor, and oversee a team of social workers responsible for Home Assessment, Friendly Visiting, and other social engagement programs ensuring the best possible service delivery and support for current and prospective DOROT constituents.  
  • Provide clinical supervision of LMSW social workers pursuing their LCSW through the state of NY and MSW intern as well as programmatic supervision of undergraduate college interns  
  • Manage key operational components of Westchester’s social work programming and services: 
  • With Advancement, provide content and program metrics for funding proposals/reports and marketing materials. 
  • With Program Impact, enhance program impact tools including feedback forms and surveys. 
  • Provision and delegation of assessment and response to the case assistance needs of older adults, caregivers, and volunteers who require additional and focused social work support 
  • Carry a small caseload of high-need constituents 
  • Ensure timely and accurate collection, tracking, maintenance of participation data and related interactions/engagements in both DOROT’s online database (Salesforce based) and the NYS Peer Place Database. This involves routine case notes and data entry; consistent review of statistics; and coordination with the Program Coordinator on monthly and annual grant reports for the Westchester Department of Senior Programs and Services. 
  • Other projects as assigned  


Job Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • An LCSW with a minimum of 5 years professional social work experience, demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility; SIFI preferred 
  • Passion for DOROT’s mission
  • A proven track record of managing a social work cohort, with at least 3 years of experience as a social work supervisor 
  • Direct experience with and comprehensive understanding of the field of aging and social work best practices
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a spirit of collaboration with staff during both routine and transformational periods, and capacity to address challenges with flexibility, sensitivity, and creativity 
  • Ability to empower others to achieve results
  • Capacity to think strategically, take initiative, and problem solve while incorporating sound clinical judgment 
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with community network of aging services, ideally in Westchester County
  • Experience in effectively utilizing metrics to inform and improve program goals 
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Availability to work up to approximately 5 Sundays per year for programs or events that may not be within the regular scope of work. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite; familiarity with Salesforce and Peer Place a plus.

This position is exempt, and candidates can expect an annual base salary between $78,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.
