AGENCY Description

Liberation-Based Therapy LCSW, PLLC is a psychotherapeutic group practice focused on supporting mental health and wellness through the lens of liberation-based healing practices. The practice serves everyone with a focus on BIPOC, immigrant communities / stories, LGBTQIA2S+ and intimate partnerships, including integrated families and open relationship structures. We work with creatives, artists, activists, individuals, couples, families, and small groups.

Job Description

This position includes providing diagnosis, mental status, direct treatment, performing client intake and assessments, developing treatment plans, and guiding the treatment process for clients toward a natural ending. The psychotherapist must be able to guide themselves with the code of ethics; adhering to client confidentiality standards, continued therapeutic training in their area of interest; participate in individual as well as group supervision. To foster greater client empowerment, all direct psychotherapy treatment duties are to be carried out through a client-centered, liberation-based perspective using evidence-based treatment modalities. 

Job Responsibilities

Delivering Individual, Couple and/or Family Therapy

  • Work with children and adults using various modalities including individual, couple, family, and group therapy, as needed.
  • Provide direct psychotherapy treatment – including noting diagnosis, mental status, assessments, and treatment planning. 
  • Maintain accurate records and charting of client files. Ensure that client documentation is completed in a timely manner and within 48 hours of the client encounter. 
  • Provide regular statistical reporting as required and within bounds of confidentiality regulations as requested by supervisory or administrative staff. 
  • At times, care coordination with those providing psychiatric services, medical services and or psychological services, if needed.


Required Supervision and Meetings

  • Required Staff meetings are held three times a year. 
  • Required Supervision weekly supervision either individual and/or group. Tailor supervision plan to meet your needs. 
  • Optional: Peer supervision and special trainings available.

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Has LSW and already had minimum of 1 year of experience in providing psychotherapy and/or some direct client contact experience. Internships ok. 
  • Commits to at least 2 years with Liberation-Based Therapy, with a desire to grow in a self-starter, collaborative environment.
  • Is available to meet clients' scheduling needs, which may include at least one weekend day, early mornings, and evenings. In person meetings with clients and monthly supervision. 
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of critical consciousness and structural/systemic challenges related to BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ issues, with the ability to integrate this perspective into therapeutic practice.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner, following office policies.
  • Comfortable working in person, virtually and networking within the field.
  • Dedicated to clinical rigor with at least one modality: CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing as well as a psychotherapeutic viewpoint. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Bilingual, ASL or any culturally specific knowledge is a plus.
